Dr. Robert Rockabrand,
Principia College Professor Emeritus, earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in
English from Principia College, Bachelor and Master of Music Degrees from Westminster Choir
College, and a Doctor of Musical
Arts Degree from Stanford
University. He served
on the Principia faculty from 1975 to 1997, and held the Charles Stewart
Harding Mott Distinguished Professorship Chair until his retirement. Previous
to that, he taught at Ball State University,
the North Carolina School of the Arts, and Westminster Choir
College. Since 1997 he
has lectured widely in the United
States and abroad.
As
Principia's choral director, Rocky led frequent tours with a combined chorus
of College and Upper
School singers. With
his wife Sara he has directed Principia Travel Studies Programs in the United States and Europe.
He also teaches at Alumni, Summer Session and October Session activities, and
has served as a faculty member in Principia December Session programs for
adults.
Awards include a Certificate of
Merit in 1989 from the American Council of Teachers for innovative academic
advising, and, with Sara, an Alumni Merit Award from Westminster Choir
College in 1996. Sara
and Bob have soloed in the Christian Science Church for many years, and Bob
is currently first reader of the Elsah Christian Science Church. He is
producer-director of the 1988 recording of hymns published by The First
Church of Christ, Scientist entitled: "The Healing Word of Love."

minister through Universal Ministries in Milford,
Illinois on
August 30, 2004. I minister at weddings on request. Have portfolio-will
