In June, we went to Alaska. We started in Vancouver. We arrived late on a Thursday night. On Friday, we took our rental car on the BC Ferry system to Vancouver island. It takes a couple of hours, (about $50 each way), but it's a scenic trip. On Vancouver island we visited Buchart gardens. It takes a couple of hours but it is spectacular.

The gardens had been a rock quarry. A private family turned it into this beautiful garden.

Next, we drove south to Victoria the capital of British Columbia. The harbor area had street entertainment, and was the hub of activity.

One of the main attractions in Vioctoria is the Empress Hotel. You are suppose to go the Empress for afternoon tea. We missed the tea, but we did have a Starbuck's.
