I was dying to walk on that trail and see what was around the corner, but my group was tired (including me) and it was really starting to get cold and rainy. I knew I wouldn't be able to stop at one turn. You always want to see what's around the next turn, then the one after that, then the one after that... Some people apparently climb right up to the crater. I don't know if that's for me - there's lava up there, hello!
It was too cloudy to see the peak the day we visited, but there was so much else to see that I was far from disappointed. It's an amazing and sobering place. Follow this link to learn more about Mt. St. Helens. |
