"Waiting for the Interurban" © 1998
This 1978 sculpture, "People Waiting for the Interurban" by Richard Beyer, is located in the Fremont District of Seattle. It's a local tradition to decorate the statue for special occasions.

Seattle has more public art than any other place I've seen. I don't think most cities can tolerate that much art - sometimes it seems like people are more afraid of art than they are of vacant lots and burned out husks of buildings.
