This view is from inside the Barstow, California Santa Fe Depot and former Harvey House. It was opened in 1911. The Western America Rail Museum has a great web page on the history of Casa Del Desierto. The size and beauty of this building is impressive. And the Barstow Route 66 "Mother Road" Museum is on the premises. How cool is that? The University of Arizona has a Fred Harvey Collection of photographs and supplemental materials.
