A MEMOIR
CRASHING AT BREAKNECK SPEED
Introduction Crashing At Breakneck Speed is a memoir. It's about change; personal, social, and cultural. It is my life, which I feel odd about sharing. I really don't know why anyone would be interested in my life. On the other hand, it would be interesting if everybody wrote a memoir. Everybody has a story in them. I have written and re-written, moved chapters around, and changed the focus multiple times. The final emphasis is on my evolution from a rowdy young man with a strong body and a weak inner self to a man with a broken body with a strong inner self. The latter doesn't require a broken body, but a strong inner self is the only way I can live a productive, meaningful life. The evolution is from a life driven by a craving to gain the attention of other people, accomplished by a dependence on alcohol; to a life after a drunken crash and a severe disability eventually leading to my life evolving to a life of inner peace, self assuredness, spiritual empowerment, and accountability. |
